Who Doesn’t Love Goodies in the Mailbox???

So, I just had to post this because I am an ABSOLUTE MAIL ADDICT!  Seriously….The other day I stalked the mail box THREE times until about 5:15pm waiting for my mail to come.  I knew I had some goodies coming in (birthday and business cards!).  I was so disappointed when nothing came.  I could not believe that I received NO MAIL!  Then, to my delight, I watched the mail lady pull up and deliver the mail.  Success!  It is the little things that make me happy, like mail.  Not just any mail – I hate getting BILLS!  But I do sign up for free samples and am always entering give-aways.  It feels like Christmas everyday!

Today was an especially exciting mail delivery day because I got some Chapstick!!!  I am addicted to chapstick.  I have at least three or four on hand at ALL TIMES.  I signed up for a Facebook dealy thing with Chapstick® and today I got a package with not one but FIVE tubes of chapstick in it!  I feel like I hit the lottery!  It is for the NEW LipSHIELD 365.  It has an SPF of 50 and will be perfect for this cold winter season.  As much as I would just keep the whole stockpile for myself, I am going to share a tube or two with some friends who like Chapstick®.

Yay! Chapstick®

I am sure it will work well.  I have used many other Chapstick® types and flavors and have NEVER been let down.  They all have great coverage and long lasting results.  So, Thanks Chapstick® for the awesome package and for making today’s mail call spectacular!!!!  My lips will thank you later 😉

Don’t be a ZOMBIE! Win $2500 with the MyEducation.com Come Alive Contest!

Sometimes I feel like a zombie!  Living the day to day…in a haze, just going through the motions.  No money and it seems like everything is out of whack….Like I am just not where I want to be!  But I am never hopeless!  One of my MAIN goals is to go back to school.  When our son passed away a couple of years ago, it took me months to even be able to patronize places I had once been a regular.  And, unfortunately, school was one of those places.  Now…fast forward to the present…I am SO READY to get my butt back into school.  I am so close to finishing.  And, I LOVE school.  There is so much to learn and so many opportunities to explore.  I have had a few different majors like Chemistry, English, and Business Marketing (indecisive Libra, I am!) and each one taught me new ideas and concepts.  I used to label myself a “life long” student because I enjoyed learning.  But there does come a point where the degree needs to be attached.  I know how fierce the competition is out there.  If I want a GREAT paying job, unless I have a degree along with some really good recommendations I can kiss a “fancy” career goodbye.  I know my luck – I am 32 years old – A great paying, high bonus/benefits job is NOT going to just fall into my lap and all problems will be solved (well money, any ways).  With hard work comes great rewards!

Of course, my previous education has helped me start my own small business making soy candles.  But I still want to go back and get that degree – and have something to show for the last 10 years!  It is never too late!  I remember being 18 and thinking, “When I am 25 I will have a good job, nice car, cute house…etc…”  I had my first daughter at 25.  And I thought, ‘By the time I am 30 I will be a Pharmacist and life will be golden.”  Didn’t happen.  Now I am on the kick, “when I am 40 I will be financially stable and done with school.  My kids will be provided for.”  Let’s hope this isn’t another far off thought.  It is important to make the goals (in whatever you do) and stick with it!  Set clear concise expectations for yourself and know exactly what you hope to achieve from your goals.  Keep your eyes on the prize and the rest will happen naturally.

A website called MyEducation.com was recently introduced to me by my wonderful blog community – The Blogger Connection.  It is perfect timing because I am starting to plan my “return to school” (in quotes because it is a big event!  The day I FINALLY walk down the aisle and get my degree will be one of my greatest accomplishments!).  Since my last time in, my wants and goals have changed.  I was never really sure what I wanted to do, hence three majors!  Now, I am older and somewhat wiser :-p and think I am finding my niche.  My passions include making candles, running my own business, blogging, social media marketing (so interested in the effects of the internet on everything!!!), and website/graphic design.  What I like about the website is that I can enter what career field I am looking to go into and where I live and it will pull up a listing of colleges that are geared towards my field.  This takes some of the leg work out.

They also have a cute commercial.  Who doesn’t love a good zombie video?  Plus it has a good message.

Don’t be like the zombie chewing cords!

Be like “Zoey the Zombie” and achieve your potential!  Here is a great way to get started and use some creative muscle.  MyEducation.com is having a “Come Alive” contest and the Grand Prize winner will win $2500!  With the price of books these days, you will probably need it!  So be creative, fun, SMART, inspiring….and create YOUR OWN “Come Alive with MyEducation.com” video and show the world who you are (or who you are about to BECOME!)

So, go to MyEducation.com and submit your video!  I will be submitting mine!  Do you think you can do better???  If you do submit a video, I would love to see it! Zombies and Halloween – that is a great combination!

Also, post it to MyEducation.com’s Facebook page (and make sure you “like” them too!).

If you tweet, then follow them to stay in the loop – @MyEducationGirl

And subscribe to MyEducation.com’s Youtube channel to see outtakes from the zombie commercial.

Once you have your video submitted get everybody you know to VOTE VOTE VOTE for you!  Tell them to watch your channel, become a fan, and share it!  The top ten videos will be will be judged (see official rules).

Plus, beginning October 15th, MyEducation.com will be hosting bi-monthly challenges.  This is another way you **could** win a $100 gift card!

Feel free to comment here and tell me if you are planning on returning to school.  What is your major?  What is YOUR story?  I would love to hear it 🙂

My awesome MAM Rock-A-Bye Baby Party thanks to Child’s Play Party!

MAM Logo

It's a Child's Play party!

So, I was recently given the opportunity to host a MAM Rock-A-Bye Baby party through Child’s Play Party.  I was surprised and excited when I found out that I was chosen to host!  First, we love MAM products in our house.  It is the ONLY brand of paci’s that we use (except for one Playtex paci given to us as a back up).  Of course, MAM offers more than just paci’s (though I am led to believe that the paci’s are their top seller!).  I received a party package that included gifts for myself and ten moms with babies ages 0-2 plus coupons, informational booklets, games, and door prizes.  The party package was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!  Absolutely!  I was wowed at how generous MAM was with the gifts for everybody!  The box that arrived at my doorstep alone could fit both of my children and probably myself in it!

See how big the shipping box is?

It came packed full of goodies!  My $75 Package Included:

My Gift Package!

  • MAM Baby Triple pack Anti-Colic Bottle 8 ounce
  • MAM Baby Triple pack  Anti-Colic Bottle 5 ounce
  • MAM Baby Night pacifier
  • MAM Baby  Air pacifier
  • MAM Baby Clip & Cover (for pacifiers)
  • MAM Baby Oral Care Rabbit
  • MAM Baby Cooler Teether
  • MAM Baby Bite & Brush

The guests $30 Packages included:

Guest Gift Packages

  • MAM Baby Single Anti-Colic Bottle 5oz
  • MAM Baby Single Anti-Colic Bottle 8oz
  • MAM Baby Night Pacifier
  • MAM Baby Oral Care Rabbit
  • MAM Baby Cooler Teether
  • MAM Baby Learn to Brush Set

I was so excited to invite my friends and family to this party!  I knew that they were going to love the stuff as much as me.  Plus, any reason to get together, eat, and have a good time is great for me!  I decided to hold the party at my mom’s house because a lot of my friends live closer to her house than mine.  I wanted as many people to show up as possible and figured it is easier for me to drive an hour to my guests than to have my guests drive an hour to me.  My mom made her special Creme Wafer cookies.  They are so delicious.  Any family get together we have involves at least one batch of these melt in your mouth morsels.

More cookie making.

Yum. Love the cute cooke cutter designs!

Taste Test!

Getting ready for the party was a lot of fun!  I chose a pink and blue theme for boys and girls.  We had Honey Baked Ham, Meatballs, Cheese, Olives, Pickles, Cream Puffs, Creme Wafer Cookies, Juice, Pop, Milk, Water, Tea, Macaroni and Cheese……I think that is all.  A great party is measured in the quality of the feast 🙂  And ours was delish!

Food Spread minus the hot foods.

I went simple on the gift bags – divided them up into boy bags and girls bags using tissue paper to discern between the two.  Cute and easy to put together.  I was excited just to put all of the goodies in each bag!

Gift Table.

I set up a display for the birth announcements (a little disappointed because a few people did not bring a baby picture!).

Cute Decoration!

We had a great time playing the games and just chatting and eating.  It was also pretty hectic with all of the little babies running/crawling around!  I was happy at the turn-out.

Friends and babies (the baby on the right is mine!)

My Sister, My Mom, and Myself

Only one of my friends didn’t show up because her daughter fell ill.  She was supposed to bring a friend too….So, I have two left over gift bags!  And I thought…”What should I do with these extra goodies?”  BLOG GIVE AWAY!!!!  This will actually be my FIRST blog give away.  This is my NEW blog – strictly for reviews.  Please check out my OLD BLOG for all previous reviews/content.  My BLOG GIVE AWAY post will follow this review post.  It will contain specific instructions on how to enter to win your OWN $30 MAM Goody Bag!!!

All in all it was a great party!  I am very happy that I was chosen and my friends are also very happy that I was chosen 🙂  I hope to have another opportunity for my friends and I with Child’s Play Party/Communications.  Check out their site and sign up for yourself!  Also Give them a shout-out on twitter using hashtag #ChildsPlayParty I love being able to try out products and tell people about them.  Please be notified that I was given these products and ALL of the opinions are MY OWN.  Thanks!
